We are ADEMVE, an association of women artisans from rural communities of Chichicastenango that was born from the desire to get ahead and build a better future for our families.
From our beginnings as a group of organized widows, we have grown into a network of 159 women from 7 communities, united by artisanal work, solidarity and hope.
Each piece we create reflects our history, our culture, and our hands. More than just products, we create opportunities to strengthen our communities and empower the women who are part of this project.
We believe in the value of handmade goods, in the strength of unity, and in the power of women to transform realities.

At ADEMVE we celebrate the talent and history of women who bring each piece to life with their hands and their heart.
Sebastiana Morales, with more than two decades of experience in traditional foot-loom techniques, and Catalina Mejía, a young artisan committed to her growth and her community, represent the strength, creativity and hope that define our artisanal work.

Sebastiana Morales is a single mother and has been an artisan with ADEMVE since 2002. She specializes in foot-loom weaving, working with techniques such as twill and plain weave, and creating traditional designs like sarape, culebrilla, and rhombuses. Her work combines tradition, skill, and innovation to create unique pieces that generate new opportunities for her and her family.
Catalina Mejia
Catalina Mejía, a young artisan with ADEMVE since 2022, found in handcrafted weaving an opportunity for growth, independence, and dignity. Through her work, she now contributes to her family's well-being and strengthens her future with pride and commitment.
